How the weapon is obtained

4Gamer’s first-hand October 2026 preview names the item The Fanatic’s Broken Blade and reports receiving it after defeating Hua Qianxiao, the Sword Fanatic. This resolves the generic Drunken Sword label previously used by our Wiki. The old /drunken-sword/ link remains in place to avoid creating a duplicate entry and breaking existing navigation.

Drinking and Sha-Chi

The preview describes Soul drinking with the weapon equipped. This replenishes Sha-Chi and enters a tipsy state, changing ordinary and resource attacks into flying-sword projectiles. The projectiles lose effectiveness over distance, so the weapon is not simply a free long-range alternative to every close-combat style.

Fully drunk state and its drawbacks

Pressing the relevant special input while tipsy produces a fully drunk state. The flying swords become stronger and evasive responses can occur automatically, but normal movement becomes heavily restricted and guarding is unavailable. That trade-off is critical: the weapon offers protection through one mechanic while taking away another.

The report also documents a further special action that unleashes a powerful flying-sword flurry and returns Soul to normal. Inputs cited in the preview are PlayStation-controller observations and may differ on PC or after remapping.

Strategy considerations

The weapon appears suited to a player who can anticipate enemy attacks and choose when it is safe to sacrifice the normal guard option. It may be risky during long, unpredictable boss strings where control over movement is more valuable than automatic evasion. This is an interpretation of the mechanic, not a tested match-up chart.

Unverified details

We do not have the final level-by-level unlock tree, precise Sha-Chi gain, projectiles’ damage drop-off, upgrade material costs or mandatory acquisition path.
